For one full week, live a journey into the life and work of Jean Cocteau. Experience the heart of Cocteau's graphic arts and poetry. You will visit several cities on the French Riviera, where lies some of his works. Cap d'Ail, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Menton... Let the magic of these places feed your creativity. It will then guide your brush during ceramic decoration sessions. Our ceramist artist will help you to create your own works, which will become wonderful memories of this unique stay.
During your stay, you will discover the cities of the French Riviera which give evidence of Jean Cocteau master piece, either during scheduled visits or during your free time. Nice, French Riviera capital, with its picturesque old town, and its most renowned "promenade des Anglais" ; Monaco, singular principality where modern style intermingle with "Belle Epoque" style ; Beaulieu-sur-Mer, beautiful little seaside resort, home to the Villa Kérylos, reminds ancient Greece ; Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, where the Ephrussi Villa was built by Rothschild.
Your accomodation is at the C.M.E.F., the Centre Méditerranéen d'Etudes Françaises. With a view on the luscious green park, overlooking the Mediterranean sea, the Mediterranean Centre rooms offer the comfort of simple accommodation in an extraordinary setting.
This Art journey is opened for groups and individuals. For Jean Cocteau enthusiasts and the others, beginners and confirmed artists alike, it's an amazing artist experience. No ceramic or artistic experience required. As Cocteau himself commented regarding his own work: "I am neither a painter nor an artist ; my drawings are nothing but words, unlaced, to be intertwined over again, differently."
